We are grateful for their very generous provision of Cycle Clothing kit and support of the Lost in Translation Cycle Ride 2022.
As a result of their generosity, and others, we have covered all of our costs - so anything you choose to give goes directly to the charity of your choice.

WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY?
The 4 of us (L-R Rory Downie, Finn Napier, Angus McIntyre, Will Woodhouse) are cycling down the West Coast of France in July over 8 days, from St. Malo to Bordeaux, to raise money for charity. This is over 750km, and will entail about 6 hours of cycling each day. We will camp at our intermediate stops. We had a minimum target of £5,000, but thanks to your generosity we have surpassed this and now aim to make it a round £10,000, or as close to that as possible. We primarily wish to raise money for charities close to our hearts. These would be Alzheimer's Reasearch UK, close to Angus, Finn and Rory's hearts owing to family members who've had the disease in recent years, and Action Cerebral Palsy, to support Will's sister who has Cerebral Palsy.

Action Cerebral Palsy
Will's sister Hattie has Cerebral Palsy, but she doesn't let that define her and her determination has inspired us to make this trip. We have decided to support Action Cerebral Palsy as it is a charity that focuses on possibility, rather than the difficulties that Cerebral Palsy brings, a principle that Hattie epitomises in her everyday life. Here is a snippet from their website:
Back in 2013, we were a national consortium of specialist charities working with children with cerebral palsies and their families. In 2016, Action Cerebral Palsy became a registered charity to further our mission, and since then, we have sought to establish the facts about what early care is available for children with cerebral palsy and been a key contributor to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines on Cerebral palsy
The team at Action CP all have lived experience of living with, supporting, teaching, treating and parenting children (and now adults) with cerebral palsy.
Alzheimer's Research UK
Rory, Finn and Angus have all had grandparents who had to suffer through Alzheimer's Dementia, and so they want to support the UK's leading Dementia research charity, whose firm mission is to: find the first life changing dementia cure by 2025, with a long term goal to achieve a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.

We want to support a charity fighting to stop others having to experience the disease - currently the biggest killer (excluding COVID) on average in recent years.

More about us and the ride
We have just finished our GCSEs and so we wanted to take on something independent that would also raise money for a good cause. Both the causes are close to our hearts, and we wanted to raise as much money for them as possible.
We all put in training for the ride, because we knew 80-100km/day will be a challenge. We are doing the ride fully unsupported, and will carry all of our kit on our bikes.
Please note the brilliant kit that was supplied to us by PrimaryBid!
Thank you for choosing to donate to our ride, as the charities we support are very grateful for everything we can raise.
